Application
Dry milk is consumed in Kenya across:
- Industrial dairy — Brookside, Bio Foods, New KCC, Sameer Agriculture (recombination, blending)
- Confectionery and biscuit manufacturing — milk-powder ingredient
- Beverage manufacturing — milk-based drinks
- Institutional / WFP procurement — UN agency supply chains
The Kenyan dairy industry is structurally seasonal — the dry season (December–February) creates supply pressure that is supplemented through SMP and WMP imports from Eastern European, New Zealand and selected Asian origins. Russian and Belarusian dry milk is competitively priced against alternatives.
Compliance
- KEBS Certificate of Conformity
- KEPHIS not required (dry milk is processed product, not in plant-pathogen scope; veterinary inspection regime applies separately)
- DVS / Veterinary import certificate issued by Russian / Belarusian veterinary authority
- Certificate of Origin
- COA — protein, fat, moisture, microbiological, residue testing
- Weight Certificate
- Marine Insurance — standard FCL container coverage
- EAC CET: HS 0402.10.00 / 0402.21.00. 60% sensitive list. VAT zero-rated under Second Schedule
Discharge
